You know that when you get into a routine, it is sometimes hard to change it up. However, sometimes it pays to switch it up, and it did just that for this lucky Tennessee man!

Morning coffee routine

William W. of La Vergne had become accustomed to his “morning coffee routine.” However, he was forced to make a change to that normal routine recently and it paid off big time.

How so? He ended up winning $1,000 a week for life playing the Cash4Life game from the Tennessee Lottery.

William recently claimed his prize and told lottery officials:

The store where I usually get coffee was pretty busy that morning. So, I went to a different place and picked up a lottery ticket or two, as well … and you see what happened!

'Amazed' at his good fortune

After claiming his prize winnings, William said he still isn't sure what he will do with his winnings. However, he is still “amazed” at his good fortune. Sometimes, those small changes can lead to big wins!

William purchased the winning ticket from Larros Market, located at 415 Old Nashville Hwy. in La Vergne, for the July 17 drawing. The winning numbers for that drawing were 5, 17, 28, 43, and 54, and the Cash Ball was 4.

While William is excited about his win, he joins an exclusive club of Cash4Life winners in Tennessee. He is the third winner from Tennessee of this prize, which is paid in annual installments for the winner's lifetime.

Cash4Life is a multi-jurisdictional draw game with nine ways to win. The top prize for the game is $1,000 a day for life, and the second-level prize is $1,000 a week for life. Tickets cost $2 per play, and the drawings are held every night.

Are you holding onto a $2 million winning Powerball ticket?

While William is celebrating his Cash4Life win, another Tennessee Lottery player is out there celebrating a huge Powerball win over the weekend!

One lucky player from Knoxville won $2 million playing Powerball during the Saturday, July 20, drawing. The winning white ball numbers for that July 20 drawing were 18, 25, 31, 40, and 57, and the Powerball number was 4.

The lucky ticket holder, who has not come forward yet to claim their prize, matched the five white ball numbers drawn, but not the Powerball number to win $1 million. They also chose the Power Play option when purchasing their ticket, so they doubled their winnings to $2 million.

The winning ticket was purchased at Publix, located at 2010 Town Center Blvd. in Knoxville. If you happened to buy your Powerball tickets there, you better go check to see if you have a winner!

More Powerball winners

In addition to the big $2 million Powerball winner, the Tennessee Lottery announced there were two other winners of $50,000 each from the July 20 Powerball drawing.

For those lucky winners, the tickets were purchased at:

  • 101 Lotto Mart, located at 1364 Lexington Hwy. in Loretto;
  • Firehouse Discount Liquor, located at 3049 Dickerson Pike in Nashville.

Until the prizes are claimed, no additional information is available. Powerball players in Tennessee definitely need to be checking those tickets after a winning weekend in the state!

Enjoy playing the Tennessee Lottery, and please remember to play responsibly.
