Multiple lottery players in California have reason to celebrate, as a wave of big wins has brought life-changing jackpot wins. From a near miss playing Mega Millions to multimillion-dollar scratcher prizes, this latest round of wins has created a buzz across the state. And with the Mega Millions and Powerball jackpots still climbing, there may be even more players looking to join this list of big winners.

$3.6M win playing Mega Millions

According to the California Lottery, one of the biggest wins recently came from a ticket purchased in Torrance. That is where the lucky player purchased a Mega Millions ticket, which is now worth over $3.6 million.

The winning ticket was purchased at Chill Out Smoke, located on Sepulveda Boulevard in Torrance, for the Tuesday, March 24, 2026, drawing.

The winning white ball numbers for this draw were 4, 13, 52, 53, and 69, with a Mega Ball of 10.

This winning ticket matched all of the white ball numbers drawn, but missed out on matching the Mega Ball. It may not have been the big jackpot, but it was still a very hefty payout.

If you happen to be holding onto the winning ticket, sign the back and head to the lottery headquarters to claim your prize. The ticket will expire in 180 days from the date of the drawing.

Big wins across the state

This near-jackpot win from Mega Millions wasn't the only big win moment recently. The California Lottery announced four more winners who combined to take home an impressive $18 million in prizes across the state. Here is a breakdown of the big wins:

  • Ankush Dhwan won over $2.3 million with a Powerball purchased at Wright's Market on Ventura Boulevard in Oxnard.
  • Francisco Dominguez Luna won the top prize playing Power 10’s scratch-off ticket. The $1 million win came after buying the ticket at Dale's Jr. Liquor & Market in North Hills.
  • Martin Hernandez won the top prize of $5 million while playing the 100X scratch-off ticket. The winning ticket was purchased at a 76 gas station along Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu.
  • Erik Ganey won an even bigger prize, winning the top prize of $10 million for the 200X scratchers ticket.

Multi-state draw games continue to grow

While we already have players celebrating, there are still even bigger prizes out here that remain up for grabs.

For the multi-state games, we have the next Powerball drawing worth $166 million. Drawings for this game are held every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday.

On the flip side of things, the Mega Millions jackpot also continues to climb. The next drawing, which takes place on Friday, March 27, is worth an estimated $70 million jackpot.

The Mega Millions drawings take place every Tuesday and Friday. With no recent jackpot winners in either game, anticipation is continuing to build.

Always play responsibly

While the celebration has been going on, lottery officials are reminding players to keep faith in perspective. These lottery games are designed to be a form of entertainment, not a financial strategy.

March is Problem Gambling Awareness Month. For those who may be struggling with gambling-related issues, there is help available through the California Problem Gambling Helpline at 1-800-GAMBLER.

Millions have already been won, and even bigger jackpots are still on the table. California lottery players are finding themselves at the center of lottery excitement.

Enjoy playing the California Lottery, and please remember to play responsibly.
