Big things are brewing behind the scenes at the Michigan Lottery, and players are in for a digital glow-up. From fresh game options to a sleek new app, a major upgrade is on the horizon that promises more fun, more convenience, and even more support for public schools. Let's just say that the future of Michigan's iLottery is looking seriously lucky.

Big changes are coming for Michigan Lottery players

Michigan Lottery players can look forward to a fully upgraded online gaming experience starting in July 2026. Under a newly signed six-year agreement, the Michigan Lottery will partner with Aristocrat Interactive to deliver a next-generation suite of iLottery games and services designed to boost player engagement, improve customer experience, and support the state's public education funding.

The agreement carries on a long-standing collaboration between NeoGames, currently run by Aristocrat Interactive and the Michigan Lottery. In 2014, the Michigan Lottery was among the first lotteries in the US to use NeoGames' technology to start an iLottery program.

What does this new deal mean for players?

Aristocrat Interactive will provide Michigan Lottery players with a variety of digital products and services under the terms of the new agreement. This includes NeoGames Studio's bonus content, draw-based games, and eInstant games.

Additionally, players can expect a redesigned website and mobile app powered by Gambyt, a business that specializes in lottery and betting services. Better gameplay and easier navigation, along with better interaction with rewards and promotions are all something players can expect with the new mobile app.

The partnership aims to improve the player experience while maintaining a high level of financial support for Michigan's schools, according to Suzanna Shkreli, Commissioner of the Michigan Lottery. Shkreli stated:

This collaboration is a sign of our commitment to being a leader in the iLottery space and a win for players and public education in Michigan. We're confident this new deal will help us continue to be a leading innovator in this exciting digital space.

All about innovation and responsible play

Aristocrat Interactive will provide essential backend infrastructure to support the lottery's digital operations in addition to gaming content. These consist of:

  • NeoSphere: A player account management platform.
  • NeoDraw: A service that enables safe drawings for games.
  • NeoCube: A business intelligence tool for making decisions based on data.
  • NeoEngage: A platform for customer experience that allows for tailored interaction.

Furthermore, the agreement will improve compliance operations, payment solutions, customer support, and responsible gaming programs. All of this will contribute to making sure Michigan Lottery players have a safe and enjoyable online lottery experience.

Boosting revenue for public schools

In terms of both gross revenue and per-capita performance, the Michigan Lottery has long been a strong performer in the US iLottery market. The lottery's contributions to the School Aid Fund exceeded $1.2 billion in FY2024 alone, marking the sixth consecutive year that it has surpassed the $1 billion mark.

Lottery officials hope to boost those contributions even more by improving the online gaming experience. The Michigan Lottery has been hailed as a digital pioneer by Chris Shaban, Managing Director of Aristocrat Interactive iLottery. Shaban explained:

This multi-year agreement is a testament to the proven strength of the Aristocrat Interactive platform, our commitment to innovation, and the long-term value we provide to our customers.

With six optional one-year extensions included, the new contract positions the Michigan Lottery and its players for a strong and sustainable digital future.

Enjoy playing the Michigan Lottery, and please remember to play responsibly.
