A lucky Rhode Island lottery player has a winning Mega Millions ticket worth $20,000 from the drawing on Wednesday, March 20.

The Mega Millions Megaplier ticket was purchased from Seasons Corner Market, located at 1783 Old Louisquisset Pike in Lincoln. The ticket matched four numbers, and the prize was doubled because the player added the Megaplier option for an extra $1.

Mega Millions jackpot rolls over again

Because there was no jackpot winner in the Wednesday night drawing, the Mega Millions jackpot has rolled over again and has now reached an estimated $977 million, making it close to $1 billion. Three months have now passed without a jackpot winner. This jackpot ranks as the 10th largest in U.S. jackpot history.

Other recent Rhode Island lottery winners

There were two other lucky lottery winners in the Ocean State this week. Both of them took home big prizes, one from an instant-win game and one from the Daily Numbers instant match game.

  • $60,000 prize: A man from Cranston took home a $60,000 prize, which he won playing a Mega Loteria instant-win ticket. He purchased the winning ticket from Plaza Liquors, located at 212 Garfield Avenue in Cranston. He plans to use his winnings to buy a new truck or car.
  • $50,000 prize: A woman from Kingston put her $50,000 prize straight into her bank account. She won the money by wagering on two 4-digit straight tickets in the Daily Numbers instant match game. Her winning ticket was purchased from the Kingston Convenience Store located at 2360 Kingstown Road in Kingston.

How to play Mega Loteria instant-win

Mega Loteria is a $10 instant-win game with a top prize of $60,000. To play, scratch off the Caller's Card area to reveal your 27 symbols. Next, remove only the symbols on Play Board 1 and 2 that match your symbols. If you reveal a complete vertical, horizontal, or diagonal row, you win the prize shown for that row. The prize range for this game is $10, $20, $30, $40, $50, $100, $200, $500, $1,000, and $60,000. To date, one $60,00 jackpot prize remains.

How to play the Daily Numbers instant match game

To play, select your game time on the play slip – 4-Digit, 3-Digit, Back 3, or 2-Digit. If you choose a 2-digit game, this uses the front two digits only, and you must select a straight bet. Next, choose your bet type – Straight or Combo. Then select the amount you wish to wager for each play - $0.50, $1, $2, or $5. Now, you can choose your numbers based on the type of game you selected. Drawings take place twice each day at 1:30 p.m. and 7:29 p.m. Eastern Time.

Enjoy playing the Rhode Island Lottery, and please remember to play responsibly.
