It's shaping up to be a sizzling summer night for lottery dreamers. With Powerball rolling into yet another drawing and nearly half a billion dollars on the line, players across the country are hoping tonight is their turn to strike it rich.

But Powerball isn't the only game bringing the heat, as several state lotteries have big jackpots of their own up for grabs. Could your state be hiding the next big winner?

Powerball jackpot keeps growing

The Powerball jackpot continues its climb, as no tickets matched all of the winning numbers during Monday's drawing. That means tonight's drawing, Wednesday, August 6, 2025, will be for an estimated $449 million with a cash value of $203.9 million.

For this current jackpot run, we have had 28 drawings without a ticket matching all of the winning numbers. The last jackpot win came on May 31, 2025, when one ticket in California matched all of the winning numbers drawn that night to win the $205 million jackpot.

No winners, but a night of millionaires

While we have not seen a jackpot winner since May, Powerball officials were excited about a big night of winners back in July. For the July 9 drawing, nine players were one number away from winning the Powerball jackpot.

The nine tickets all matched the five winning white balls drawn that night — 5, 9, 25, 28, and 69 — but missed out on matching the Powerball number (5). Eight of the tickets won $1 million, while the ninth included the Power Play option and had its prize doubled to $2 million.

Meanwhile, two of the winning tickets also happened to be purchased by the same Massachusetts man. Paul Corcoran of Fitchburg thought the last drawing for his multi-draw Powerball ticket had passed, so he went out and purchased another multi-draw ticket.

Turns out, the first multi-draw ticket was still active for the July 9 drawing. He matched all five of the white ball numbers on both tickets to win $2 million total.

States have big lottery jackpots up for grabs

While many lottery players will be chasing their Powerball dreams tonight, there are many state lottery games with some big jackpots, and they are having a drawing tonight, too. Those draw games include:

  • Lotto Texas — $42.25 million — drawing will be held tonight at 10:12 p.m. CT.
  • SuperLotto Plus — $31 million — drawing will be held tonight at 7:45 p.m. PT.
  • Florida Lotto — $21.75 million — drawing will be held tonight at 11:15 p.m. ET.
  • Hoosier Lotto — $9 million — drawing will be held tonight at 11:00 p.m. ET.
  • Oregon's Game Megabucks — $7.7 million — drawing will be held tonight at 7:29 p.m. PT.
  • Classic Lotto (Ohio) — $6.2 million — drawing will be held tonight at 7:05 p.m. ET.
  • Lotto 47 (Michigan) — $5.75 million — drawing will be held tonight at 7:29 p.m. ET.

While the jackpot sizes may not be as high as Powerball, the odds of winning are a little better and could be worth a shot if you live in one of those states.

Enjoy playing the lottery, and please remember to play responsibly.
