March brings luck and big wins for Rhode Island Lottery players

There is a lot of green when it comes to the month of March, from leprechauns to Saint Patrick’s Day celebrations. However, that green means cash for some lucky Rhode Island Lottery winners.

An eInstant Rhode Island Lottery win

A woman from North Smithfield was playing the Lucky 7’s Multiplier eInstant game online, and she won $10,000. It seems to have come at a perfect time for the lucky player, as she told lottery officials that she’ll most likely purchase a car for her 16-year-old daughter.

Keno player hits all nine spots

One lucky player from North Providence won $30,000 playing Keno. The lucky man was playing at Pick and Pay at 94 George Waterman Rd. in Johnston.

The man told lottery officials that he loves to play Keno. He got lucky this time around, as he was able to match all nine of the numbers he played on a nine spot game.

Keno Doubler promotion

The Rhode Island Lottery is also running a Keno Double promotion statewide at all Keno retailers. The promotion runs through March 17 and gives players the chance to double their Keno prizes on any four spot or seven spot Keno game as part of the Rhode Island Lottery’s 50th anniversary celebration. The promotion is only available on the Keno games played between 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. ET.

Wild Money jackpot win

Another lucky Rhode Island Lottery player took home a jackpot recently. A lucky woman from Smithfield won a $28,000 jackpot while playing Wild Money on March 3. The winning numbers for that drawing were 3, 5, 12, 14, and 25, and the Extra Ball was 23.

She matched all five of the winning numbers for the $28,000 jackpot. She told lottery officials that she normally plays Wild Money once per week and plans on putting her winnings in savings. She seemed to be having a lucky week, as she told officials that this win was the third “good thing” that happened to her that week.

Wild Money — how does it work?

Wild Money is a $1 draw game for the Rhode Island Lottery that is held every night at 7:29 p.m. ET. Players pick five numbers from a set of 1 to 38, or they can choose Quick Pick for the computer to generate random numbers for them. To play more than one drawing on a ticket, make sure to mark how many consecutive draws to enter in the Multi Draw box.

Wild Money also offers players an Extra Ball, which is a sixth ball that the lottery draws after the first five main numbers. In order to win the jackpot, you have to match the main five numbers. However, matching the Extra Balls gives players a chance at winning secondary prizes.

The jackpot for Wild Money starts at $20,000 and grows every draw until someone wins. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 501,942. There are a total of seven ways to win in Wild Money, ranging from $1 up to the jackpot.
