Gladwin County resident Douglas Woodside's decision to ensure he didn't miss any Fantasy 5 drawings during his vacation turned into a lucky $110,000 win. His win highlights the ease of playing Fantasy 5 and the potential for life-changing rewards.

Woodside explained:

My wife and I were leaving for vacation, so I purchased a multi-draw Fantasy 5 ticket to cover the days we would be gone. About a week later, after we'd gotten home from our trip, I remembered to check the ticket. I looked it over three times, and then I had my wife look it over to make sure I wasn't seeing things. Once she confirmed what I was seeing, I immediately started shaking. I couldn't believe it! Winning is such a relief.

The winning ticket, purchased at the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Beaverton, matched the May 3rd drawing numbers: 4-18-23-27-29.

The 59-year-old from Beaverton plans to use his winnings for some long-awaited home improvements. He'll then tuck away the remaining amount, securing his financial future. This win comes just a month after another Fantasy 5 jackpot win by a group of lottery players in Waterford, proving that Fantasy 5 can turn regular people into instant millionaires.

Another Fantasy 5 jackpot

This win by Douglas Woodside isn't the only recent Fantasy 5 success story. In May, a group of lucky lottery players from Waterford also struck it big.

The "David K" lottery club, a group of neighbors who'd been playing together for five years, won a $110,000 Fantasy 5 jackpot.

Their win shows that the game can be a fun social activity, offering the chance to share the thrill of winning with friends and family.

A simple game with big rewards

Fantasy 5 offers an exciting chance to win big for just $1 per play. The game's simplicity is part of its appeal. Players simply choose five numbers from 1 to 39.

Matching all five numbers drawn wins the jackpot, which starts at $100,000. Fantasy 5 gives a daily chance to win, with drawings held seven days a week at 7:29 pm.

For those seeking more ways to win, Fantasy 5 offers additional options. EZmatch, available for an extra $1 per play, gives you a shot at an instant $500 prize. If you're feeling lucky, select Double Play. This option is also $1 extra and gives you a second chance to win up to $110,000 in a nightly drawing.

Tickets can be conveniently purchased at lottery retailers or online at the Michigan Lottery website until 7:08 pm on the day of the drawing.

Supporting the state of Michigan

Beyond the chance to win big, playing the Michigan Lottery supports a great cause. Nearly all the money, around 97 cents of every dollar spent on tickets, goes back into the state.

A significant portion, over $1.3 billion in 2023 alone, is directed towards the School Aid Fund. This vital contribution helps fund public education across Michigan, benefiting countless students and educators. The Michigan Lottery has contributed over $28 billion to public schools.
