Someone in New York just struck it rich — like, $17 million rich. After months of rollovers, hopeful players, and growing anticipation, New York's in-state LOTTO game has finally delivered its second jackpot winner of the year.

One lucky ticket matched all the right numbers in the July 23 drawing, ending a streak that spanned more than 50 drawings. The win has sparked buzz across the state, but where exactly was the ticket sold, and how did the jackpot grow so big? Read on to find out how it all unfolded and how close you might've been.

Big winner in New York

The New York Lottery is celebrating today, as one lucky ticket matched all the winning numbers drawn for the July 23, 2025, LOTTO game. Because they matched all of the winning numbers, the lucky ticket won the jackpot of $17 million.

The winning numbers for last night's drawing were 6, 8, 22, 29, 37, and 50, and the Bonus Number was 11. The jackpot-winning ticket was purchased at Polge Wine & Liquors, located at 434 W. Seneca Turnpike in Syracuse.

Second jackpot winner of 2025

Last night's jackpot win for the New York LOTTO draw game was just the second jackpot win of the year. The only other jackpot win in 2025, which was for $3 million, took place on Wednesday, January 8.

That means this current jackpot run lasted 56 draws, climbing from the $2 million starting point to the $17 million that was won last night.

How to play New York LOTTO?

The New York LOTTO draw game is exclusive to players in New York only. The in-state game allows players to pick two sets of six numbers from 1 to 59, or they can choose the Quick Pick option and allow the computer to select the numbers for them. Each play is $1 for two lines.

For the Bonus Number, that is the seventh number picked during the draw. By matching five of the main numbers drawn plus the Bonus Number, a player would win the second prize level.

The New York LOTTO game has five prize levels, with players needing a minimum of three numbers matched to win a prize. All prizes are pari-mutuel, so the amount can vary. The overall odds of winning one of the five prizes are 1 in 92.05. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 45.06 million.

Drawings take place every week, at 8:15 p.m. EST on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Lucky winner in Powerball

There was another big winner in New York last night, as one lucky ticket holder took home the third-tier prize for the Powerball game.

The winning white ball numbers for last night's drawing were 2, 18, 19, 25, and 35, and the Powerball was 25. The lucky ticket was purchased at Walmart Supercenter, located at 329 S. Kingsboro Ave. Ext in Gloversville. This ticket matched four of the five white ball numbers plus the Powerball to win the $50,000 prize.

Enjoy playing the New York Lottery, and please remember to play responsibly.
