The Rhode Island Lottery is celebrating multiple winners this week!

Keep reading to find out how you could be next and learn more about the Lottery's rich history and positive impact on the state.

The Numbers game wins

A New Bedford woman won a lucky $35,000 playing The Numbers game. She played her late grandmother's favorite numbers, 2, 7, 3, and 1, on seven different tickets for the December 12th, 2023, midday drawing. Each ticket was a $1 four-digit straight bet, winning her $5,000 each. She plans to use the windfall to pay off student loans. Congratulations!

Another lucky winner from North Providence struck it rich on The Numbers game, too. He wagered $2 on a four-digit straight bet for the March 24th, 202, evening drawing, winning $10,000. He's planning to save his winnings.

The Numbers game, launched in 1976, was the first Rhode Island Lottery game where you could choose your own numbers! It's been a popular choice for Rhode Islanders ever since.

Want to play The Numbers game? Here's how:

  • Pick your game type: 4-digit, 3-digit, back 3, or 2-digit.
  • Choose your bet type: straight, box, or combo.
  • Select your draw time: midday, evening, or both.
  • Pick your numbers or ask for a Quick Pick.

Drawings are held daily. Midday tickets can be purchased until 1:20 PM, with results streamed on their official YouTube channel. Evening drawings air on WPRI-TV 12, and tickets can be bought until 6:50 PM.

More lottery winners

There were additional big wins on Rhode Island Lottery instant games. A Westerly woman won $30,000 playing 5X, and a Johnston man won $25,000 on a Classic Bingo ticket. Congratulations to them as well!

A legacy of giving back

The Rhode Island Lottery isn't just about creating lucky winners; it's about giving back to the community. Since 1974, the Rhod Island Lottery has transferred over $8.3 billion to the state's General Fund. This fund supports a wide range of vital services, from education and healthcare to public safety and environmental initiatives.

Here's a glimpse into how lottery funds make a difference:

  • Education: Funds support public schools, colleges, and universities, ensuring all Rhode Islanders have access to quality education.
  • Healthcare: Lottery dollars help fund hospitals, clinics, and critical health programs, keeping residents healthy.
  • Public safety: Lottery contributions support police, fire departments, and other emergency responders, safeguarding communities.
  • Environment: Lottery funds are used for environmental protection programs, ensuring a clean and healthy environment for future generations.

When you buy a Lottery ticket, you're not just playing for a chance to win big; you're contributing to the betterment of the state. Get your lucky tickets today and be part of Rhode Island's winning tradition!
