Check your junk drawer, coat pocket, or that old wallet you haven't touched in months because someone in Indiana is sitting on a million-dollar Mega Millions ticket, and the clock is ticking. With time running out and several other states facing similar situations, could you be the mystery winner who's about to miss out?

A big winner in Indiana is still unclaimed

Time is running out for one lucky winner in Indiana, as a winning Mega Millions ticket from the December 20, 2024, drawing is about to expire. The winning ticket is set to expire on Wednesday, June 18, if no one claims it before then.

The winning white ball numbers for that draw were 2, 20, 51, 56, and 67, and the Mega Ball was 19. The lucky ticket, which was purchased at Big Red Liquors #222, located at 2290 E. 116th St. in Carmel, matched all five of the white balls to win $1 million.

The ticket holder now has until 4:30 p.m. ET on June 18 to claim their winnings at the Hoosier Lottery Prize Payment office, located at 1302 N. Meridian St. in Indianapolis. All winners of Hoosier Lottery draw games have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prize.

A winning ticket in Louisiana is also about to expire

Not as big as the Indiana ticket, but a Powerball-winning ticket in Louisiana is about to expire if no one claims it by June 14, 2025. The winning ticket is for $50,000 and was won during the December 16, 2024, Powerball drawing.

The winning white ball numbers for that draw were 9, 30, 33, 57, and 61, and the Powerball number was 17. The lucky ticket, which was purchased at Meraux Food Store in Chalmette, matched four of the five white balls and the Powerball to win $50,000.

The ticket holder now has until 5 p.m. CST on June 14 to claim their prize. Powerball prizes greater than $5,000 must be claimed at one of the lottery's five regional offices located throughout the state or at lottery headquarters in Baton Rouge.

Winners of draw games in Louisiana have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prize. If it goes unclaimed, the money is deposited into the lottery's unclaimed prize fund, which is returned to players in the form of increased payouts on scratch-off tickets and player promotions.

Other unclaimed prizes

More deadlines are looming across the country, as lucky winners seem to be holding onto their winning tickets until the last possible second:

  • A Powerball ticket was purchased at Safeway Fuel Mini C-2612, located at 1677 S. Havana St. in Aurora, Colorado. The ticket matched all of the winning white ball numbers for the December 16, 2024, drawing — 9, 30, 33, 57, and 61, and the Powerball number was 17 — to win $2 million. The ticket is set to expire on June 14, 2025, if no one claims it.
  • A Powerball ticket was purchased at Speedway #4317, located at 3155 Century Ave. N in White Bear Lake, Minnesota. The ticket matched four of the five winning white balls and the Powerball for the June 26, 2024, draw — 5, 6, 36, 53, and 69, and the Powerball number was 8 — to win $100,000 since they included the Power Play option. The ticket is set to expire on June 26, 2025, if no one claims it.
  • Another Powerball ticket, this one purchased at Hy-Vee #1759, located at 8701 Douglas Ave. in Urbandale, Iowa. The ticket matched four of the five winning white balls and the Powerball for the December 28, 2024, drawing — 6, 31, 51, 54, and 55, and the Powerball number was 12 — to win $50,000. The ticket is set to expire on June 26, 2025, if no one claims it.

Enjoy playing the lottery, and please remember to play responsibly.
