A golden retriever in China is being hailed as an unlikely lottery expert after turning a chaotic shopping trip into a winning moment. By the time the woman caught up with her dog, the damage was already done. The dog had grabbed onto a scratch-off ticket and had left tooth marks all over it.

Because the property was now damaged, the store couldn’t sell it to anyone. That meant Lin had to pay for it.

An unexpected surprise

The winning ticket turned out to be for 1,000 yuan, which is about $139 USD.

Lin told AsiaOne, “I was so surprised. I’ve never won such a large sum of money in a lottery.”
