A lucky Powerball winner snagged the $204.5 million jackpot on Saturday night. The winner, who hails from California, matched all five white balls and the Powerball.

Who's the lucky winner?

The ticket was sold in Arleta, in Los Angeles, California, at a 7-Eleven. The ticket has not been claimed as of press time, but in California, winners are required to publicize their full names, total winnings, and the location of the business where the ticket was purchased.

What did they win?

The winner picked white balls 1, 29, 37, 56, 68, and red Powerball 13 – winning the jackpot worth $204.5 million at the Saturday evening draw.

The jackpot has a cash value of $91.6 million. The winner can accept the cash lump sum prize or an annuity, which includes one payment, followed by 29 annual payments that increase by 5% every year.

Other winners on Saturday include two $2 million win - one in New Hampshire, and one in Florida. Both winners matched five white balls, and included a Power Play option, which doubled their $1 million prizes. Five winners took home $100,000, and nine won $50,000.

The jackpot will reset to $20 million for tonight's drawing at 10:59 Eastern Standard Time. Drawings take place at this time every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday.

Powerball results in 2025

Before Saturday, three other Powerball jackpots were won this year, including another California win.

On January 18, a $328.5 million jackpot was won in Oregon. The winner was 79-year-old Abba Shafii. He purchased the ticket from a store in his hometown, Beaverton, and chose a lump sum totaling $146.4 million. He plans to use the money for travel, non-profit donations, and investment, according to KPTV.

On March 29, a Powerball ticket holder won $526.5 million from a 7-Eleven in Anaheim, California. The winner has not been named.

On April 26, a winner in Kentucky scored the $167.3 million jackpot. James Farthing scored the winning ticket out of a Georgetown store called Clark's Pump n' Shop.

More about Powerball

Powerball is the largest lottery game in America.

In April, Powerball celebrated its 33rd year in existence. The game is available in 45 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. Players must match five white balls and a red Powerball to win. The game has some of the highest jackpots in history, including a record-breaking $2.1 billion, which was also won in California.

Tickets cost $2 per play. A Power Play option is available for an extra dollar, and it multiplies any winnings. For another $1, players can participate in a separate drawing called Double Play, which takes place directly after Powerball drawings.

Since its inception in 1992, Powerball has raised more than $36 billion for causes across the country. Matt Strawn, Iowa Lottery CEO and Powerball Product Group Chair, stated:

Powerball's impact can be found everywhere the game is sold. Powerball proceeds are improving the communities where our players live and work – whether it's support for veterans in Iowa, college scholarships in Tennessee, new trails and parks in Colorado, or low-cost prescription assistance for seniors in Pennsylvania.
