Arizona Lottery just made claiming a big prize easier for these winners

New weekday rules at the Kingman Claim Center mean more winners can collect their money closer to home.

Winning a big Arizona Lottery prize is exciting. However, having to make a long road trip just to claim it? That’s not as exciting. The Arizona Lottery is now making things easier for winners in northern Arizona by expanding prize claim services at its Kingman Claim Center. The location has removed its weekday claim limits, which allows players with bigger prizes to collect their winnings without having to travel to Phoenix or Tucson.

This change could make a huge difference for players in Kingman, Bullhead City, Lake Havasu City, the Arizona Strip, and other surrounding communities. Before this change, the Kingman location could process draw game prizes, like from Pick 3 or Fantasy 5, of up to $50,000. They could also process scratch-off prizes of up to $100,000. Winners above those amounts had to take their tickets elsewhere.

Based on fiscal year 2026 claim activity, lottery officials estimate that about 135 winners each year would have fallen into that category. Now, they have a much closer option.

Kingman Claim Center already sees plenty of winners

The Kingman Claim Center isn’t just some quiet lottery outpost. During fiscal year 2026, this claim center has processed approximately 6,000 claims and paid more than $1.5 million in prizes.

The claim center recently moved into a larger, renovated space inside the same Walmart on Stockton Hill Road. They had a soft opening on August 3, 2026, and since then, they have already seen some big winning tickets make their way through the doors.

This includes two $100,000 winning tickets from Mohave County and a $2.4 million winning ticket sold at a Maverik in Littlefield.

In a statement announcing the expansion, Arizona Lottery Executive Director Alec Thomson said, “The Kingman Claim Center is vital to serving players across northern Arizona and from our neighboring states who win big with the Arizona Lottery.”

Thomson added that the expanded center gives winners in the region a more convenient way to collect their prizes while staying closer to home.

Northern Arizona is a big lottery county

These expanded services are coming to a county that already does plenty of business for lottery tickets.

Mohave County has 229 Arizona Lottery retailers. During fiscal year 2026, those locations generated approximately $75.1 million in sales. That accounts for 6.4% of statewide lottery sales.

Money generated by the Arizona Lottery helps fund programs across the state, including programs serving Mohave County and northern Arizona. These programs include Health Start, the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children, Court Appointed Special Advocates, and other health, public safety, and community programs.

However, the biggest change for players is simple: Winning big no longer means having to travel big.

The Kingman Claim Center is now open with its expanded weekday claiming capabilities. However, weekend visitors still have those limits to keep in mind. Saturday limits haven’t changed, so scratch-off prizes are still limited to $100,000, and draw game claims are capped at $50,000.

So, if you happen to be holding onto a big-winning Arizona Lottery ticket, a weekday trip to Kingman would be your easiest option for claiming your prize.

Enjoy playing the Arizona Lottery, and please remember to play responsibly.
