Can you imagine holding onto a jackpot-winning ticket from the Nebraska Lottery worth $200,000 and missing out on the chance to claim your prize?

That's what's about to happen for one winning ticket, as the Nebraska Lottery announced a $200,000 winning Pick 5 ticket will be expiring soon.

The unclaimed winning ticket

The $200,000 winning Pick 5 ticket was from the December 3, 2023, drawing. The winning numbers for that draw were 3, 10, 11, 17, and 28. The winning ticket was purchased at Kwik Shop #648, located at 1403 Harlan Street in Falls City.

If you happen to be holding onto this winning ticket, you have until Friday, May 31, 2024, to claim your prize. To do so, lottery officials say you need to sign the back of the ticket and make a plan to come to the lottery headquarters in Lincoln.

Pick 5 - how does it work?

Pick 5 is a daily draw game from the Nebraska Lottery. The results go live by 10:00 p.m. CT every day.

To play Pick 5, players select five numbers from 1 to 40. Or, you can ask the lottery retailer for a Quick Pick selection, and the computer will generate random numbers for you. For Pick 5, players can add up to 84 consecutive draws for the numbers purchased.

The jackpot for Pick 5 starts at $50,000 and increases by $10,000 until it's won. If there are multiple winners, the money will be split evenly between the winning tickets. The chances of winning the jackpot are 1 in 658,008.

For this game, there are four prize categories. To win a prize, you must match at least two balls, which gets you a free Quick Pick ticket. For matching three numbers, you win $9, and you win $500 for matching four numbers. If you match all five numbers, you win the jackpot.

Other unclaimed lotto prizes

For Nebraska Lottery draw games, prizes must be claimed within 180 days of the drawing for which the ticket was issued. While the $200,000 Pick 5 winner is the biggest ticket to not be claimed yet, the Nebraska Lottery has five other Lottery prizes that have yet to be claimed, which are:

  • $140,000 Pick 5 winner - this winning ticket was purchased at Hy-Vee Food Store #03 in Omaha. The drawing date was April 22, 2024, and the ticket will expire on October 19, 2024.
