Powerball's historic jackpot run continues after no ticket matched all six numbers in Monday night's drawing, pushing the grand prize to an estimated $1.7 billion for Christmas Eve. The streak now stands at a record 47 drawings without a jackpot winner, the longest run in the game's history. With a cash option of $781.3 million on the line, the holiday drawing adds even more buzz to a jackpot cycle already ranking among the largest ever in U.S. lottery history.
Record-breaking jackpot run
This current Powerball jackpot run is definitely breaking records. For the Monday, December 22, 2025, drawing, the winning white ball numbers were 3, 18, 36, 41, and 54, and the Powerball number was 7. The Power Play was 2X.
With nobody matching all of the winning numbers last night, the jackpot now grows to an estimated $1.7 billion for Wednesday night’s drawing, which happens to be Christmas Eve. The estimated cash value for this jackpot is $781.3 million.
Wednesday's drawing will be the 47th in the current jackpot run, which is a game record for the most drawings in a jackpot cycle. The last time the Powerball jackpot was won was on September 6, when two tickets in Missouri and Texas split the $1.79 billion jackpot.
Christmas is a special time for Powerball players, and a lucky time. Historically, the Powerball jackpot has been won once on Christmas Eve (2011) and four times on Christmas Day (1996, 2002, 2010, and 2013). Could it happen again in 2025?
Non-jackpot wins piling up
Lottery officials are urging players to check their tickets. While there was no jackpot winner, the drawing produced plenty of non-jackpot prize winners.
Across the nation, nine tickets matched all five of the white balls drawn to win $1 million. Those Match 5-winning tickets were purchased in Florida, Georgia, Illinois, New York (2), Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Wisconsin.
There were also 107 tickets that won $50,000 for matching four white ball numbers plus the Powerball. There were 28 tickets that won $100,000 for including the Power Play option.
For the Double Play drawing, two tickets purchased in Florida and Maryland won $500,000 after matching all five of the black balls drawn. Those winning numbers were 14, 32, 47, 48, and 69, and the Powerball number was 17.
