The luck has definitely been shining down on New Jersey Lottery players lately, and it continued last night with the latest Powerball drawing.

Another New Jersey millionaire

The latest big winner for the Garden State was a Powerball ticket worth $1 million, being sold in Essex County for the Monday, June 17, drawing. The state is definitely on a lucky streak of players winning seven-figure jackpots.

The lucky winner matched all five numbers but not the Powerball for the June 17 drawing. The ticket was the only second-prize ticket sold in the country.

The winning numbers for last night's drawing were 30, 48, 53, 58, and 66, and the Powerball number was 9 with a Power Play of 2X.

The winning ticket was purchased at ShopRite of Livingston, located at 438 S. Livingston Ave. in Livingston.

New Jersey's lucky lottery streak

With the Powerball win last night, New Jersey players are definitely on a winning streak in the state. It has been a lucky week, as they had the $1 million Powerball win on June 17. On Friday, June 14, a $1 million Mega Millions ticket was sold in Bergen County. On Thursday, June 13, there was also a $3 million Pick 6 ticket sold in Mount Laurel.

In addition, the Powerball jackpot grew to $222.6 million last week, and a New Jersey player won it on Monday, June 10, with that winning ticket being sold in Lindenwold. That is four millionaires in a week, so it sounds like it's time for people to start buying lottery tickets in New Jersey! Well, people clearly are, but for those not buying them, then it sounds like some luck might be in favor when purchasing them, as more millionaires might be coming to the state!

This winning streak also came after another huge jackpot was won in the state earlier this year. One lucky ticket sold in New Jersey matched all the winning numbers for the March 26 drawing of Mega Millions to win the $1.13 billion jackpot, the state's biggest lottery jackpot ever.

Powerball jackpot continues to grow

While a player in New Jersey won $1 million playing Powerball last night, no tickets nationwide matched all six of the winning numbers to win the $45 million jackpot. That pushes the estimated jackpot to $56 million with a cash option of $27 million for the Wednesday, June 19, drawing.

For the secondary $10 million Double Play drawing, no tickets matched all the numbers, and no winner was crowned. The winning numbers were 30, 41, 42, 67, and 68, and the Double Play number was 16.

The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million. Those players who buy a $2 ticket have about a 1 in 11.69 million chance of matching five numbers and winning the $1 million prize. The odds of winning the third prize of $50,000 are 1 in 913,129.

Enjoy playing the New Jersey Lottery, and please remember to play responsibly.
