Another big jackpot win for New Jersey Lottery players, as 2024 seems to be a good year for the state!

Luck definitely has stayed in New Jersey

After one ticket in New Jersey matched all the winning numbers for the March 26 Mega Millions, winning the $1.13 billion jackpot, the state has now continued its streak of winning big lottery jackpots.

New Jersey Lottery Executive Director James Carey announced that the only Powerball jackpot winning ticket from the Monday, June 10, drawing happened to be sold in New Jersey. By matching all the numbers, the lucky player wins the $222.6 million jackpot. The cash value for the jackpot is $104.7 million.

By landing another jackpot win in New Jersey, this marks the second largest jackpot won in the state in 2024. Of course, the $1.13 billion Mega Millions jackpot is the biggest in the state for 2024.

The winning ticket

For the June 10 drawing, the winning white ball numbers were 3, 10, 33, 58, and 59, and the Powerball number was 9, with the Power Play number being 2. According to the New Jersey Lottery, there were also 19,768 New Jersey Lottery players who took home an estimated $106,477 in prizes ranging from $4 to $200.

The numbers for the Double Play drawing, an additional drawing for players who opted-in to the Double Play feature, were 9, 15, 27, 32, and 65, and the Double Play Ball number was 10.

The winning ticket was purchased at Preet Food Mart, located at 598 Chews Landing Road in Lindenwold. For selling the winning ticket, the lucky retailer will receive a $30,000 bonus commission from the New Jersey Lottery.

Carey said:

It is thrilling to be able to congratulate another life changing winner this year in New Jersey! Fortune has smiled upon our players and this prize now becomes the tenth largest jackpot ever won in the state, and the biggest in South Jersey since 2013! We encourage the jackpot winner to immediately sign the back of the ticket, make a copy of both sides and put it in a safe place.

Powerball jackpot wins in 2024

We are only halfway through the year, but it looks like Powerball players are winning big already. This latest jackpot win is the fourth time the Powerball jackpot has been won in 2024. In 2023, the jackpot was won a total of five times!

The last Powerball jackpot win was on May 6, when a player in Florida won the $214 million jackpot ($100.1 million cash).

After this latest win, the Powerball jackpot now resets to $20 million for the next drawing, which will take place on Wednesday, June 12.

Big jackpot wins in New Jersey

Players in New Jersey are no stranger to big jackpot wins. The largest Powerball jackpot won by a single player in the state happened in May 2016. That lucky player won $429.9 million.

For Mega Millions players, the largest jackpot won took place on Tuesday, March 26, when one ticket matched all the winning numbers to win the $1.13 billion jackpot. That winner hasn't come forward yet to claim their prize.

When they do, New Jersey law allows them to remain anonymous indefinitely, if they choose to do so. However, the Lottery is still required by law to withhold state and federal taxes, so the winner must still provide their identity to Lottery officials. Also, the Lottery shares the identity of winners with other State agencies, for the collection of any unpaid obligations such as child support, student loans, or back taxes.

Enjoy playing the New Jersey Lottery, and please remember to play responsibly.
