A man from North Platte recently became the seventh player to win a 2023 Ford F-150 XLT 4x4 SuperCrew Flex Fuel truck by playing the Nebraska Lottery's Truck$ & Buck$ instant-win game.

Lucky Lucas Swarthout purchased his winning ticket from the Kwik Stop located at 120 South Jeffers St. in North Platte. Lottery officials presented him with his new vehicle on February 12 at the Kwik Stop.

Lucas bought his Truck$ & Buck$ instant-win ticket back in the fall of last year. After putting it safely in his glove box, he forgot all about it. It was only by chance that he came across it there this month.

In an interview with the Nebraska Lottery, he said:

I was cleaning out my glove box. I was looking for a VIN number on my other vehicle and found the ticket in there unscratched.

Lucas said that Truck$ & Buck$ wasn't a game he usually played; he just had a feeling one day and decided to buy one. At first, Lucas said he wasn't sure if he would keep the new truck. But then he realized that the taxes and registration were taken care of by the Nebraska Lottery, and now he's driving it proudly. He said:

That just makes it better. When you find out there's no financial strings attached to it.

How to play the Truck$ & Buck$ instant-win game

This is the 28th edition of the $2 scratch-off game. The top prize is a 2023 Ford F-150 XLT 4x4 SuperCrew Flex Fuel truck that is valued at $81,000, which includes $1,160 for costs ownership costs and state and federal withholding paid by the Nebraska Lottery of $4,050 and $19,440, respectively.

To play this game, scratch off each game row in the play area. If you reveal three matching symbols in the same game row, you win the prize amount shown. If you match three symbols and the prize is a fuel symbol, you win $500 in ethanol-enriched fuel. If you match three symbols in the same row and the prize is a truck symbol, you win the top prize. The prize range for this instant-win game is a free ticket, $4, $5, $6, $10, $25, $50, $100, and a truck. To date, one top prize remains on this ticket.

How the lottery helps Nebraska

The aim of the Nebraska Lottery is to help fund good causes throughout the state while providing entertainment for the residents of the Cornhusker State. Since the Nebraska Lottery was launched in 1993, it has raised more than $965 for its beneficiaries, which include the Nebraska Environmental Trust, the Nebraska Opportunity Fund, the Education Improvement Fund, the Nebraska State Fair, and the Compulsive Gamblers Assistance Fund.
