A lucky woman from Honeycutt, North Carolina, has won a Cash 5 $265,152 jackpot.

Her secret to winning? She picked her numbers by combining the ages of her grandchildren. In an interview with the North Carolina Lottery, Glenda Honeycutt said:

I always play my grandchildren's ages. I play them every night.

Glenda purchased her Cash 5 ticket from the Food Lion on West Roosevelt Boulevard in Monroe. She won by matching all five numbers in the drawing on January 14. The winning numbers were 13, 20, 27, 29, and 32. The odds of matching all five numbers are an incredible 1 in 962,598.

Glenda said that she had previously matched four balls in the Cash 5 game, but this was her first jackpot win. She checked her numbers over breakfast on the morning after the drawing and couldn't believe it when she saw she had won the big prize. “It took a while for it to sink in,” she said. “It was a shock.”

Glenda traveled to the lottery headquarters a few days ago to claim her winnings. After tax withholdings, she took home $189,584. She plans to use the money to make some repairs to her home.

EZ Match

You can win instantly by matching any EZ Match numbers. You will be allocated your five random EZ Match numbers when you purchase your ticket.
