Luck has been hitting the snooze button for Mega Millions players lately, but that might change tonight. After four jackpot winners in the first half of the year, the second half has been one long dry spell, and now the prize has ballooned to a jaw-dropping $800 million. Could tonight finally wake the giant?

Biggest Mega Millions jackpot of 2025

This year started strong for Mega Millions players. In the first six months of 2025, players saw four jackpots being won. In the second half of the year, there have been no jackpot winners yet.

The last Mega Millions jackpot winner came on June 27, 2025, when one lucky ticket in Virginia matched all the winning numbers drawn. By doing so, they won the $348 million jackpot.

Now, here we are, months later, and no jackpot winner has been crowned since. We have seen 36 drawings without a jackpot winner, which has helped push the current jackpot to an estimated $800 million for tonight's drawing.

Change of luck for November?

While we are looking for the first jackpot winner in the second half of the year, we are also looking for the first Mega Millions jackpot winner in the month of November since 2016.

Mega Millions debuted in 2002. Since that time, we have seen 16 jackpots won during the month of November.

However, the last jackpot win took place in November 2016. The biggest November jackpot winner was a $326 million prize won in New York on November 4, 2014. Could the same happen tonight, just 11 years later?

Winners during the current jackpot run

While we haven't seen a jackpot winner in 36 drawings, we have seen almost 11.1 million winning tickets at the other prize levels. These winning tickets have garnered total prizes of over $261.8 million.

Of those winners, we have seen 17 second-tier prizes handed out. The winners included:

  • 8 with 2X multiplier ($2 million) – Winning tickets sold in Arizona, California, Connecticut, Mississippi, New York, North Carolina, Texas, and Virginia.
  • 7 with 3X multiplier ($3 million) – Winning tickets sold in California (2), Florida, Georgia, Illinois, New Jersey, and New York.
  • 8 with 4X multiplier ($4 million) – Winning ticket sold in California.
  • 8 with 5X multiplier ($5 million) – Winning ticket sold in California.

In addition, we have seen 244 third-tier winning tickets during this jackpot run, with prizes ranging from $20,000 to $100,000.
