Thursday nights used to mean must-see TV on NBC, but for the Maryland Lottery, it meant must-win jackpots last night!

Two big winners

The Maryland Lottery was excited to announce that the Thursday, June 20 drawings were lucky for players.

After the drawings took place, Maryland Lottery officials announced two big winners: one ticket winning the $540,000 Multi-Match jackpot and one ticket winning $50,000 on Bonus Match 5. These winning tickets were sold in Frederick and Kent counties.

Multi-Match jackpot winner

The big winner of the night goes to the lucky Multi-Match ticket holder. The winning ticket matched all six of the numbers drawn for the June 20 drawing, which were 5, 10, 11, 25, 30, and 37.

The winning ticket was purchased at Four Corners Exxon, located at 4400 Mill Bottom Road in Mt. Airy. They also have a reason to celebrate, as they will receive a bonus of $1,000 for selling the jackpot-winning Multi-Match ticket.

It's been a good year for Multi-Match players in Maryland, as this is the fifth jackpot-winning ticket sold in 2024. When this lucky winner claims their prize, they have the option of choosing between the $540,000 estimated jackpot annuity, paid out in 25 equal installments, or taking the lump sum cash option, which would be an estimated $290,000 before taxes.

Bonus Match 5 top-prize winner

The winning on June 20 continued in Maryland, as a player on the Eastern Shore hit it big, winning $50,000 in the Bonus Match 5 game.

The winning ticket matched all six of the numbers drawn to win the $50,000 top prize. The winning numbers were 9, 15, 17, 18, and 37, and the Bonus Ball was 4.

The winning ticket was purchased at Suds 'n' Soda, located at 1014 Washington Avenue in Chestertown. For selling the Bonus Match 5 winning ticket, the Kent County retailer will earn a $500 bonus from the Maryland Lottery.

Bonus Match 5 has also been lucky this year for Maryland Lottery players. The June 20 top-prize winning ticket was the 19th top-prize winner in 2024. It also happened to be the second night in a row a ticket won the top prize, as a top-prize winning ticket was purchased at 7-Eleven #11590, located at 10594 Metropolitan Avenue in Kensington, for the June 19 drawing.

Birthday money for the win

The winning definitely continued for Maryland Lottery players, this time with a Western Maryland resident turning the birthday money he got from his mom into $50,000!

The lucky winner, who remained anonymous, had $20 tucked into the birthday card he received from his mother, so he used that $20 to buy a $1 Million Royale scratch-off. Instead of getting smaller amounts of tickets, he told Maryland Lottery officials that he thought he would go big, and it paid off.

After scratching the ticket, he scanned it using his Lottery mobile app and was surprised when he saw he won $50,000. His wife couldn't believe it either and thought it was fake.

It definitely wasn't fake, and now that he has collected his winnings from the Maryland Lottery headquarters, he plans on getting a new vehicle and paying off his credit card, which he used to fix his air conditioning unit.

Enjoy playing the lottery, and please remember to play responsibly.
