Michigan has a new millionaire. A lucky lottery player from Union has six zeros dancing before his eyes.

Cain Bice had a great start to his day recently when he woke up and checked his Powerball numbers the day after the drawing on April 6, 2024. Cain matched the five white balls to win a prize of $1 million. The winning numbers were 22, 27, 44, 52, 69, and Powerball number 9. Bice purchased his ticket online at the Michigan Lottery website.

In an interview with Michigan Lottery Officials, Cain said:

I bought a few more Powerball tickets than I usually do since the jackpot was over $1 billion. The morning after the drawing, I logged into my Michigan Lottery account and saw a lot of zeros in my account balance. I rubbed my eyes thinking I was still dreaming. Once I realized I had really won $1 million, I started shouting in excitement.

When his wife heard the commotion, she came into the room to see what was going on. Cain showed her his ticket and the winning numbers on his phone. Once they had both calmed down, Cain called his family to share the good news.

Cain plans to use his lottery winnings to buy a house and a car and take a trip to Disney World.

Powerball update

The next Powerball drawing is tonight at 11 p.m. Eastern Time. The Powerball jackpot has not been won since April 6, 2024. The jackpot for tonight's drawing is an estimated $115 million. That's a cash value of $53.1 million.
