Luck lined up perfectly for Illinois Lottery players this week, literally. A familiar string of repeating numbers turned what would have been an ordinary midday drawing into a major payday, sending a wave of excitement across the state.

For thousands of players, those perfectly lined-up digits meant instant celebration, grins from ear to ear, and proof that sometimes, “nothing” can mean a whole lot of something.

The unusual sequence had people rushing to check their tickets, sharing their wins online, and marveling at how a pattern so simple could deliver such big rewards. After all, when it comes to the Illinois Lottery's Pick 3 game, there's just something magical about seeing all those numbers match up in perfect harmony.

Zeros across the board

Players love to play these repeat-winning combinations, and it definitely paid off for Pick 3 players in Illinois.

The winning combination for the Tuesday, November 4, 2025, Pick 3 drawing from the Illinois Lottery was 0-0-0, with the Fireball number being 0 also. With that winning combination, there were over 7,200 winning tickets sold.

For those winning tickets, the Illinois Lottery announced that they paid out $1.79 million in prizes. When people see 0-0-0, they might think they are looking at “nothing,” but for thousands of lucky Illinois Lottery players this week, it added up to quite a lot of something.

Repeating numbers are popular in Illinois

As we stated, these types of repeating number combinations are popular for lottery players. They'll try their luck at all different combinations and hope one of them hits, so they can win big.

It has happened multiple times in Illinois, with the Pick 3 drawing on May 23, 2024, coming up 5-5-5, with the Fireball number also being 5. Thousands of winning tickets were sold for that drawing, with lottery officials saying they handed out $1.8 million in prizes.

The Illinois Lottery Pick 4 draw game also crowns these Quad winners. For the August 6, 2025, drawing, the winning combination was 4-4-4-4 with the Fireball number being 2.

It may not have been all 4's across the board, but it still paid out good money. Thousands of tickets matched the winning combination, and lottery officials paid out a total of over $6.9 million in prizes.

It also took place during the midday Pick 4 drawing on May 13, 2021. For that draw, the winning combination was 7-7-7-7 with the Fireball number being 2.

Those lucky sevens paid off for thousands of lucky ticketholders. The Illinois Lottery announced it paid out over $7 million in total prizes.
