A Panama City lottery player has won $1 million after playing the Florida Lottery’s $1,000,000 A Year For Life Spectacular instant-win game.

Glen Thaxton, 69, opted to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $640,000. He purchased the $50 scratch-off ticket from the Front Beach Road Food Mart, located at 11214 Front Beach Road in Panama City Beach. The Food Mart’s retailer will receive a lottery bonus of $2,000 for selling the winning ticket.

The Florida Lottery launched the $50 instant-win ticket in February 2023. The game has two jackpot prizes of $1 million for life and 234 prizes of $1 million. The instant-win ticket also has more than $1.6 billion worth of smaller cash prizes. Your overall odds of winning are 1 in 4.50.

How to play the $1,000,000  A Year For Life Spectacular scratch-off game

To play the $1,000,000 A Year For Life Spectacular instant-win ticket, you need to scratch off the ten wad of cash symbols to reveal the winning numbers. Then scratch off the 35 dollar symbols to reveal your numbers. If any of your numbers match the winning numbers, you win the amount shown for that number. If you reveal a 5X, 10X, 20X, 50X, 100X, or 500X symbol, you multiply your winnings by that amount. Scratch off the $500 Bonus Box, and if the number revealed matches any of your numbers, you win $500 instantly. Scratch off the Double All Winnings Bonus box. If any of your numbers match the number revealed, you win double all your winnings.
