Has a forgotten lottery ticket recently shown up in a jacket pocket? Did you forget to check a ticket you bought a few months ago? If you live in Delaware and you like to play the lottery, you could have a winning ticket and not realize it.

Check your old lottery tickets because several high-prize tickets are yet to be claimed.

Unclaimed lottery winners

The following tickets from the Delaware Lottery are waiting to be claimed. Winners have one year from the drawing date to claim their prize.

  • $50,000: This is a Powerball prize from the drawing that took place on September 27, 2023. The winning numbers for that drawing were 1, 7, 46, 47, 63, and Powerball number 7. The ticket was purchased from Wawa #834, located at 17663 Dartmouth Drive in Lewes.
  • $10,000: This is a Mega Millions prize from the drawing that took place on August 4, 2023. The winning numbers for that drawing were 11, 30, 45, 52, 56, Mega Ball number 20. The ticket was purchased from PW Fuels, located at 4015 Governor Printz Boulevard, Wilmington.
  • $10,000: This is a Mega Millions prize from the drawing that took place on August 4, 2023. The winning numbers for that drawing were 11, 30, 45, 52, 56, Mega Ball number 20. The ticket was purchased from Royal Farms #161, located at 1551 Pulaski Highway and Wellington Drive, Bear.
  • $5,000: This is a Lucky for Life prize from the drawing that took place on March 11, 2023. The winning numbers for that drawing were 3, 7, 10, 28, 35, and Luck Ball number 17. The ticket was purchased from the Shack & Tobacco Bazaar located at 2445 Pulaski Highway, Newark.

Delaware players are missing out

Delaware Lottery players, it's time to put your lottery tickets in a safe place – one that you'll remember. Did you know that between 2009 and 2018, 21 tickets for prizes of $10,000 or more went unclaimed? According to the Delaware Lottery, more than $2 million worth of prizes are left unclaimed each year.

The biggest unclaimed prize in Delaware Lottery history was a ticket sold in 2003 that was worth $5 million. Bear resident Bob Palese claimed that he purchased the winning ticket and that it went through the washer and drier in a pair of jeans. He filed a lawsuit in 2004, claiming he had kept the card that he filled out when he bought the ticket. The court decided that he had no case.
