Delaware players are missing out

Delaware Lottery players, it's time to put your lottery tickets in a safe place – one that you'll remember. Did you know that between 2009 and 2018, 21 tickets for prizes of $10,000 or more went unclaimed? According to the Delaware Lottery, more than $2 million worth of prizes are left unclaimed each year.

The biggest unclaimed prize in Delaware Lottery history was a ticket sold in 2003 that was worth $5 million. Bear resident Bob Palese claimed that he purchased the winning ticket and that it went through the washer and drier in a pair of jeans. He filed a lawsuit in 2004, claiming he had kept the card that he filled out when he bought the ticket. The court decided that he had no case.

Enjoy playing the Delaware Lottery, remember to play responsibly, and don't forget to check your tickets. You might just be a winner.
