Colorado Lottery players have been in a winning kind of mood lately!

Back-to-back Colorado Lotto+ jackpot wins!

The Colorado Lottery announced they had two lucky Coloradans that won back-to-back Colorado Lotto+ jackpots.

On Wednesday, April 24, Elizabeth A. of Wray won the $7.86 million Colorado Lotto+ jackpot. The winning numbers for that draw were 7, 16, 23, 28, 37, and 40, and Elizabeth matched all six numbers. She chose the Quick Pick option for her ticket, which she purchased at 7-Eleven, located at 402 W. 3rd St. in Wray.

Elizabeth chose the lump sum cash payment after her big win, so she received a check for $3.93 million. She didn't share any more details with lottery officials, but we can only imagine she is smiling brightly after that big win.

On Saturday, April 27, the next drawing for Colorado Lotto+, Charles D. of Castle Rock, hit the jackpot, winning $1.11 million.

The winning numbers for that draw were 13, 17, 23, 24, 27, and 31, and Charles matched all six numbers. He purchased his $2 winning ticket at Loaf 'N Jug, located at 4901 N. Castleton Drive in Castle Rock.

Colorado Lotto+ - how does it work?

Lotto+ is a home-grown jackpot game from the Colorado Lottery. The drawings are held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays at approximately 7:35 p.m. MT.

To play, you need to select six numbers from 1 to 40, or you can choose the Quick Pick option, which allows the computer to generate numbers for you. If you want another shot at winning prizes, you can add the Plus option. Each play costs $2, and it costs $1 more to add the Plus option.

What is the Plus option? For players that add this option, your ticket will be included in an additional draw that takes place right after the Lotto+ draw. If your numbers match at least three from the Plus draw, you win a prize. If you win in the main draw and Plus, then your prizes are added up.

The Lotto+ jackpot starts at $1 million and grows every draw without a winner. The Plus jackpot is always $250,000. Every Lotto+ ticket is randomly assigned a multiplier between 2 and 5. Any non-jackpot winnings are multiplied by that number.

There are four prize categories for Colorado Lotto+. You need at least three matching numbers to win a prize in both the main draw and the Plus draw. The prizes range from $3 for matching three numbers up to the jackpot for matching all six numbers.

Colorado Lottery gives back

Not only are players winning in Colorado. The Colorado Lottery gives back millions of dollars every year to trails, pools, parks, schools, and open spaces across the state.

The Colorado Lottery says these are all places where Coloradans love to get away and play. Money from the lottery helps support projects, both large and small, in every county in the state.

Enjoy playing the Colorado Lottery, and please remember to play responsibly.
