In that time, the different PR Lottery games on offer have changed considerably and there are now six different lotto games available to Puerto Rico lottery players. The most popular of these is the Puerto Rico Lotto or Lotto Puerto Rico which regularly hands out multi-million dollar jackpots. Also available in Puerto Rico is the Loteria Tradicional, Pega 2, Pega 3, Pega 4 and Revancha.
Two of these games, Revancha and the Puerto Rico Lotto, are actually linked together. In order to play Revancha, you have to have play Lotto. So, if you don't win with the PR Lotto then you may do with Revancha, which fittingly means 'revenge'.
In 2011, the Puerto Rico lottery was enlisted to help the state raise more taxes after small businesses were dodging sales tax on cash sales. In order to stop this, the Puerto Rico lottery printed lottery numbers on the back of receipts in order to encourage consumers to demand receipts. Lottery prizes available to Costa Rica receipt holders include cash jackpots of up to $1,000 as well as a car which is given away following monthly drawings.
