About the Florida Lottery

The Florida Lottery was first granted a license to sell lottery tickets in 1986. However, it wasn't until 1988 that the first Florida lottery tickets went on sale, in the form of a $1 Scratch-Off called Millionaire. All of the lotteries in Florida (FL) are available to players over the age of 18 and draws are made from Universal Studios, Orlando. By far the most popular and biggest jackpot is the Florida Powerball, which often reaches to more than $100 million. Other popular games in the state include the Florida (FL) Lotto and Mega Money.

Since 1988, the Florida state lottery has donated more than $21 billion to good causes, with most of this money going to education. Having all of the winning numbers, has often won players hundreds of millions of dollars and in 2009, the FL lottery paid out ten jackpots of $10 million. Other games available in Florida are Cash 3, Fantasy 5, Midday Cash 3, Play 4 and Play 4 Midday, which are all drawn daily. The Florida lottery is truly embraced by state citizens, with almost $4 billion being spent on lottery tickets every year.
