Jackpot Triple Play just got a $1 million upgrade in Florida

The Florida Lottery raised the game's jackpot ceiling while keeping its price, play style, and odds intact.

Florida Lottery players now have another $1 million to chase when playing Jackpot Triple Play. Lottery officials announced they have increased the in-state draw game’s maximum rolling jackpot from $2 million to $3 million. This gives players the chance to win a considerably bigger top prize without changing how much it costs to play the game. This change is part of a series of updates arriving for Florida Lottery players in September, including new scratch-off tickets.

A bigger jackpot without changing the game

While the jackpot ceiling is getting a big boost, players familiar with Jackpot Triple Play won’t have to learn any new rules. The game’s play style, prize structure, and overall odds remain the same. It still will cost $1 per play for a Jackpot Triple Play ticket.

For each of those tickets, players will receive three sets of six numbers ranging from 1 to 46. Players can pick their six numbers for the first set or use Quick Pick. The other two sets are generated automatically.

If a player matches all six numbers on any one of the three lines, then they win the jackpot.

The big difference with these changes is how high that jackpot can now climb. Previously, the rolling jackpot could grow to a maximum of $2 million. Now, that ceiling has been raised by 50% to $3 million.

Drawings for Jackpot Triple Play are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:15 p.m. ET.

What about the Combo option?

For players looking for another way to win, they can still add the Combo option for an additional $1. The Combo allows numbers from all three sets on a ticket to be combined when determining whether a player has won one of the game’s Combo prizes.

This means a number doesn’t necessarily have to appear on the same line as the others to contribute toward a Combo win.

This jackpot increase announced by the Florida Lottery doesn’t change the Combo feature. It just gives existing players a bigger potential top prize without taking away or changing the game’s other options.

Other changes announced by the Florida Lottery

The bigger Jackpot Triple Play prize isn’t the only update the Florida Lottery has rolled out this month.

On September 21, the Florida Lottery launched five new scratch-off games. These tickets range in price from $1 to $30, with top prizes reaching as high as $15 million. In addition, the Florida Lottery also introduced the new $20 Grouper Jackpot Sampler. This bundle includes several draw games in one purchase.

This Sampler includes three Powerball draws, two Mega Millions draws, and two Florida Lotto draws. Players also receive two Jackpot Triple Play draws at no additional cost. This means, altogether, the package includes $22 worth of draw-game tickets for $20.

For Jackpot Triple Play players, the headline change is simple: the game they already know now has room to produce a considerably bigger winner.

The next time the jackpot starts rolling, it won’t have to stop at $2 million. There’s now another $1 million waiting at the top.

Enjoy playing the Florida Lottery, and please remember to play responsibly.
